Cat is an award-winning photojournalist as well as a writer and video producer. Her photos have appeared in Budget Travel Magazine, on the websites of Curbed and the Daily Mail. Her videography has appeared on CBS Evening News and on the websites of People Magazine and Buzzfeed.

She is a dedicated multimedia storyteller, story finder and interviewer. Her niche is finding people with stories that inspire. She is currently a columnist for Kids VT magazine and a freelance photographer, writer and video producer available for assignments.

Cat was the Staff Photographer and a magazine writer for Half Moon Bay Review, Half Moon Bay Magazine and Pacifica Magazine in the San Francisco Bay Area. She wrote and photographed the magazine series “Against the Tide,” which featured inspiring, creative and colorful locals.

She was the Photo Editor and Chief Photographer of TimesLedger Newspapers in Queens, NY, which consisted of 14 weekly newspapers throughout Queens. She captured spot news, events and portraits and also wrote and photographed a weekly feature photo story on inspiring residents and community leaders.

Her weekly photo column “Street Seen” ran in New York Press showcasing New York City street fashion and during that time she was a regular photojournalist for amNewYork.

Cat’s been honored with many awards over the years including “Photographer of the Year” by the New York Press Association (2008) and first place for “Best Feature Photo” by the California Newspaper Publishers Association for her humpback whale photojournalism (2015).

Cat earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Tulane University in New Orleans and she earned a master’s degree in multimedia communications from Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She studied visual journalism at Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura, CA. She lives in Vermont with her husband, Ross Sheehan, daughter, Remy, and son, Bo.

Since the pandemic, Cat has been writing, photographing and producing films for a monthly multimedia storytelling series she created called “Vermont Visionaries” which spotlights role models and people inspiring kids. The series appears in Kids VT magazine and Seven Days and it airs on Vermont’s CBS affiliate WCAX.
